Standard Bank Offshore is celebrating a brilliant season for the Douglas & District FC Junior Girls, with the club’s young squads delivering trophy wins and record growth across the programme.
The Under‑14s retained their league title for the second year running, despite stepping up an age group early, a standout achievement for the squad.
The Under‑10s also shone, finishing the season as Cup Champions.
Girls’ football at the club has expanded rapidly, with player numbers rising from 36 to 82, supported by Standard Bank Offshore’s three‑year sponsorship, now in its second year. The backing has helped fund kit, venues and the additional costs of running larger squads.
Lee Francis, Chief Executive and Island Head at Standard Bank Isle of Man, said the players “should be incredibly proud” of their achievements, adding that the growth in girls’ football shows “real enthusiasm among young girls on the island.”
Head Coach Micky Corlett praised the teams’ progress and said the bank’s support, including enabling all squads to train together at the NSC, has “made a real difference” as the girls’ section continues to expand.
