Laura Kinley has had the ideal preparation for this summer’s Island Games by breaking a British swimming record at the British Masters Championships.
Competing in the ladies’ 50m breaststroke, the Team Utmost Isle of Man athlete stormed to victory in a season’s best of 32.89—almost a second faster than her nearest rival.
Isle of Man Swimming said in doing so, Kinley broke the long-course British Record in the 25-29 age group.
Kinley, who will captain the Isle of Man team in Orkney, will also race in the 50m freestyle and 100m breaststroke this weekend.
Teammate Heather McGowan also impressed, finishing 11th in GB for the 45-49 age group and setting a new Manx Masters Record in her first long-course 50m breaststroke in years.
