Abby Kirkpatrick and The Real McCoy finished eighth at the Royal International Horse Show (RIHS)
The pair qualified earlier in the year for the prestigious show and were competing in the Lightweight Working Hunter class.
The Real McCoy had the second best ride from the judge along with good conformation marks, but rolled one pole which Abby says is “a little frustrating”.
She added: “Just remembering that even qualifying to ride here is incredible and just how lucky I am to have the best little horse.”
RIHS
In April, 31-year-old Kirkpatrick travelled to the UK to contest two RI qualifiers, rolling a pole in the first event.
They travelled further south to Addington Manor in Buckinghamshire when they jumped a clear round to take second place and a coveted ticket to RIHS.
They had previously qualified a few years ago, but a fall at home left Abby with a broken arm and unable to ride.
