Peel Coastguard Rescue Team was called out just before midnight last night after a person on a visiting yacht slipped and fell into the water at Peel Marina.
The injured individual was struggling in the water while fellow crew members attempted to recover them.
The Coastguard Duty Officer and Marine Operations Centre staff monitored the situation via harbour CCTV and provided advice over the 999 line.
Peel Coastguard Rescue Team arrived on scene just admitted night, as the yacht crew hauled the casualty onto the pontoon alongside their vessel.
Team members worked with a Paramedic to deliver care before moving the person to a safer location on the main pontoon. They were then transferred to an ambulance at the boat park.
The Coastguard also praised the actions of those on board, adding: “Thanks also to the yacht crew for their quick thinking in rigging a hauling line from their mast to recover their crewmate.”
