A planning application has been submitted to open a self-service laundrette in Peel.
The proposal, for a business to be called Peel’s Laundry Lounge, would see four washing machines and two stacked dryers installed in the former hairdressers on Michael Street.
The supporting statement emphasises the low environmental and noise impact, noting equipment will be installed on “anti-vibration steel plinths” and that the “highest operational sound level is 62 dB, comparable to a normal conversation”.
Its proposed opening hours are from 7am to 10pm.
The applicant argues the development will support town centre regeneration and “increase regular footfall on Michael Street”.
