Lezayre Road to Close For Five Days

Lezayre Road between the Ginger Hall and Glen Auldyn will close to through traffic for five days later this month while a series of carriageway repairs are undertaken.

The works, which include resurfacing, line‑marking and TT‑related preparations such as black‑and‑white kerb painting, will run from 9:30am on Monday, April 20 until no later than 3:30pm on Friday, April 25.

The closure will remain in place 24 hours a day, as temporary road conditions will make it unsafe to allow through traffic.

All through traffic will be diverted via a signed route along St Jude’s Road, Jurby Road and Bowring Road.

Access Arrangements

Vehicular access to and from properties within the closure will be maintained, though residents should expect delays, temporary surfaces, speed restrictions and local traffic management.

Properties served by Glen Auldyn and Gardeners Lane will be accessible from the Ramsey direction only.

Properties on Bernaharra (South) and Garey Road must be accessed from the Jurby Road end.

Pedestrian access will remain unchanged.

Services

Bus Vannin services will generally follow the diversion route, but special arrangements will be in place to marshal school buses through the works so that pick‑ups and drop‑offs can continue as normal.

Passengers are advised to direct any queries to Bus Vannin.

The Department noted that the closure period overlaps with contingency dates for the ongoing Mountain Road works.

If the two schedules clash, the Lezayre Road works will be postponed. Both roads will not be closed at the same time.
