Douglas Lifeboat Station has said goodbye to its Mersey class RNLB Frank and Lena Clifford of Stourbridge.
The 33-year-old lifeboat left the harbour earlier today, though now as you’d imaging.
The station said that “sadly due to technical issues we were unable to passage her back to Fleetwood”.
As a result, she was lifted by Isle of Man Heavy Crane Services on to a waiting trailer to await a journey by road.
The boat has been replaced by a Trent class lifeboat while discussions with the government continue about the long-term future of the station.
