A 57 year old man from Liverpool has appeared in court charged with manslaughter.
John Meadows of the Allerton area of Liverpool appeared before High Bailiff James Brooks this morning.
A Liverpool woman, 53 year old Jill Hughes died after an alleged assault outside the Palace Hotel on Friday night.
The High Bailiff said that due to serious nature of the allegations, the case could not be heard in the lower court, nor could a plea be made at this time.
The case has now been committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery on May 28th.
There was no application for bail and Meadows will be remanded in custody at IOM Prison until his next appearance in court.
