Red Mie and Ballacosnahan Farm Ltd are celebrating after their loaghtan products were awarded stars by the Great Taste Awards.
The Guild of Fine Food awards support, celebrate and encourage independent food and drink retailers and the producers that supply them.
Ballacosnahan Farm aka Manx Loaghtan Produce, was awarded three stars for its Manx Loaghtan Chorizo and two stars for its Loaghtan Salami and Manx Chorizo.
The Ballaugh based Red Mie’s Loaghtan Merguez Sausages, which were awarded two stars, impressed judges who said: “The meat is the star – robustly sheepy and with exceptional depth of flavour.”
They added: “We loved the heat and sweetness on the palate of this wonderful sausage, with its cinnamon hit on the nose. We cannot remember eating a better merguez.”
