A man accused of possessing and importing cannabis has been cleared of all charges.
Stephen Carriage, 42, from Douglas, was also charged with being in possession of a bladed article.
Mr Carriage denied all charges and the matter was set to go to trial this week.
However, Mr Carriage’s advocate Jim Travers confirmed that his client had provided a prescription confirming he was entitled to have and use the medicinal cannabis.
As a result, the prosecution offered no evidence on all matters and Mr Carriage was told he was free to go.
The defence was awarded two thirds of costs.
