Next month, ten apprentices from University College Isle of Man will travel to Guernsey to compete in the second Pan-island Skills Competition.
The Manx apprentices will compete against Highlands College Jersey and Guernsey Institute.
The following apprentices are representing the island in their fields:
- Painting & Decorating: Brooke Goldsmith and Eryn Millar
- Brickwork: James Smith and Freddie Kermode
- Carpentry & Joinery: Adrian Chisoi and Ben Jones
- Electrical: Raivo Rimicans and Axel Newey
- Plumbing: Ollie Millar and Juan Skelly
The event on February 14, is a collaborative initiative which aims to showcase and celebrate the diverse talents of young individuals who are studying for qualifications in their chosen vocational field.
Apprentices Competing
Apprentices will compete in a series of timed challenges that will test their skills in their chosen trade.
The competitors will have the opportunity to demonstrate their expertise and problem-solving abilities under the scrutiny of industry professionals who will make up the judging panel.
The event will culminate in an awards ceremony, where the top two performers in each category will be recognised for their achievements.
The occasion promises to showcase the dedication and talent of the young individuals involved in vocational education across the three islands.
