Manx runners delivered a series of determined performances at the English Schools Cross‑Country Championships in Liverpool.
With bright conditions at Sefton Park on Saturday (March 14), the stage was set for a competitive day of racing across all age groups.
The Inter Girls were first to line up, where Sienna Morrissey led the Isle of Man contingent home in 242nd place, followed by Olivia Davis in 320th, Abi Sinclair in 321st and Emma Sturgess in 334th.
The Junior Boys then took to the course, with Seamus Hall finishing strongly in 158th. He was followed by Carter Kneale (299th), Carter Whitehead (341st) and Noah Sykes (351st).
Stand Out Performance
One of the standout island performances came in the Junior Girls race, where Eve Martin delivered an excellent run to finish 37th.
Records dating back to 1999 show only Sarah Astin has ever placed higher for the Isle of Man in this category, highlighting the significance of Martin’s result.
Bella Quaye (285th), Mollie McMullan (321st) and Autumn Ryles (344th) completed the team’s efforts.
In the Inter Boys race, Harry Stennett secured a top‑100 finish in 97th, with Jonah Graham placing 327th.
The Senior Boys saw Gnaan Desai come home in 327th, while there was disappointment in the Senior Girls event as Neve Madden was forced to withdraw due to injury.
