Manx Menu Awards Cost Forecast Hits Over £15k

The Enterprise Minister has confirmed the 2026 Manx Menu awards are expected to cost £15,529.75, according to a written Tynwald answer.

The figure, still a forecast as the campaign is ongoing, covers marketing packages, media partnerships and promotional activity delivered through Business Isle of Man.

Three staff members were involved in running the competition alongside their other duties.

Enterprise Minister Tim Johnston revealed there were 21 eligible entrants and 14 winners, with no fixed award categories this year.

Replacing the Reimbursement Model

Instead, hospitality businesses submitted proposals assessed on creativity, use of local produce, sustainability, economic contribution and promotional plans.

Public voting was removed following industry feedback, with an independent panel selecting winners. Promotion was coordinated with local media partners, replacing the reimbursement model used in 2025.

Marketing packages worth up to £1,000 per winner were delivered by 3FM, Media Isle of Man and Great Minds Marketing, including radio liners, web articles, Courier advertising, videos and social media content.

All entrants received listings on manxmenu.im and promotional coverage across Love Manx and local media platforms.
