Manx Petroleum Dispels ‘rumour mill’ Myths

Manx Petroleum has moved to reassure customers after a weekend of soaring demand left some forecourts temporarily dry.

The company said it did not run out of road fuels or heating oil.

However, it said forecourts only “ran dry” at the weekend because demand was so high that “a full weekends worth of fuel deliveries disappeared in record time”.

It added that every supplied forecourt had been “filled to the brim beforehand”.

Operations

No further deliveries were possible over the weekend as the operations team was “busy unloading a new shipment of fuel for most of Saturday and into the later hours of Sunday morning.”

The company added: “Our operations team are good, but not that good.”

On prices, Manx Petroleum said: “Yes, prices have gone up. We really don’t like it either. If anyone fancies paying our latest refinery bill we’re open to offers.”

Delivery dates are also currently “longer than we would expect them to be at this time of year,” the company added, though it confirmed the next fuel shipment is already planned with “no indications of delay or shortage of supply”.

The firm signed off: “Thanks for sticking with us, we appreciate your patience and understanding more than you know.”
