Manx Petroleum is applying for planning permission to install a replacement canopy over a gantry on its South Quay site in Douglas.
It says the existing corrugated cement roof sustained damage during a storm earlier this year and also contains asbestos fibres – which is being dealt with by a licensed waste disposal facility.
Planning documents show the new roof will be made of corrugated metal and cladded wall panels will be added.
The company says it provides ‘shade and shelter’ for staff whilst the vehicles are being maintained at the depot.
