Marown Parish Commissioners have announced a reduction in the parish rate for the forthcoming Municipal Year.
The Commissioners confirmed that the rate has been set at 2.36p in the pound, representing a reduction of 1.255% compared with the previous year.
The reduction has been made possible through the successful collection of historic outstanding rates, which were recovered on the Commissioners’ behalf by the Isle of Man Government.

During 2025, the Board also made a significant investment in new street lighting across the parish.
The Commissioners noted that the project benefits the whole community and was completed without the need to take on any debt.
In addition, the Board welcomed confirmation that Clause 5 will not be imposed on local authorities during the forthcoming Municipal Year, providing further certainty for local governance.
The announcement was made by Mrs Alison Lynch, Board Member of Marown Parish Commissioners.
