Michael Dunlop was the master of all around him as he stormed the first Sportbike race.
The two-lap race, which got underway after a non-racing delay, saw the Northern Irishman lead from start to finish.
With Mike Browne first out on the road, he was 3.680 seconds behind Dunlop by Glen Helen, with Paul Jordan third and Peter Hickman in fourth and Manxman Joe Yeardsley in fifth.
Dunlop continued to fly round, topping the Sulby speed trap on lap one at 163.918mph as he led up the Mountain 11.331 seconds clear of Browne, with Jordan just a couple pf seconds behind in third.
Behind them, Hickman was having some issue with his bike on the approach into Ramsey but he maintained his composure to keep in fourth.
As they went into the second lap, Dunlop led by 17.529 seconds from Jordan, who had gone second, with Browne just 0.122 seconds behind him in third.
That opening lap of 123.637mph (18 minutes 18.603 seconds) bettered the old Supertwin record by five seconds.
By Glen Helen, Dunlop led by 22.691 seconds, while the gap between Jordan and Browne was just 0.241 seconds in the hotly contested battle for second.
With MD clear of the rest, Browne had retaken second from Jordan to be 1.119 seconds ahead of him at Ballaugh.
As Browne kicked on, he was 2.032 seconds clear by Ramsey, with Hickman fourth, Coward firth and Yeardsley sixth.
By Bungalow Jordan had fought back to close that gap to 1.550 seconds, with the two set for a race down the Mountain in the battle for second.
With the gap at 1.627 seconds by Cronk ny Mona, it appeared that Browne had done enough to secure second place.
As they crossed the line, Dunlop set another new lap record at 124.530mph (18:10.725) with Browne second, just 0.663 seconds ahead of Jordan.
With Hickman fourth, Coward finished fifth, with Yeardsley delivering highest placed finish for a local rider in any class this week in sixth.
