Isle of Man sprinter Meghan Pilley had an excellent day at the Manchester International held in wet and windy conditions at Sportcity.
Meghan ran a speedy time of 12.08 seconds in the individual women’s 100 metres, not far outside her personal best of 11.99 set earlier in the season.
Although the wind was 2.9 m/s, above the limit for the times to count for rankings.
England Debut
She later pulled on an England vest for the first time, in a women’s 4×100 metres relay against a Scotland team that included Orkney’s star of the recent Island Games, Taylah Paterson.
Meghan ran a great first leg, putting England ahead at the first changeover, but a mistake at the second changeover meant that England lost the chance of winning after losing a lot of time.
Taylah ran a speedy anchor leg to take Scotland to victory.
