It’s been a fantastic summer season for sprinter Meghan Pilley, who has really kicked on this year and fulfilled all the promise she has shown for a number of years.
Her performances have been consistently fast, ranking her as one of the best female sprinters the Isle of Man has produced.
She looked to have set new personal bests of 12.17 seconds for the 100 metres and 25.37 seconds for the 200 metres at the recent Northern League Match at Wavertree in Liverpool, but unfortunately in both races the wind speed was marginally above the legal limit of 2 metres per second.
Meghan will undoubtedly be a key member of the team for next year’s Island Games in Orkney, where she will be targeting her first individual medal as well as being part of what will be an extremely strong women’s 4×100 metres relay team.
