MHK Raises Questions on Meat Plant Director Pay

Arbory, Castletown, and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse has submitted written questions to the Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture on governance and pay at the Isle of Man Meat Plant.

He asked whether directors at the Meat Plant were recused from discussions about their own pay, whether any such recusals were recorded in board minutes, and what formal conflict-of-interest controls were in place where board members were also beneficial owners of companies submitting invoices to the plant.

He also sought clarification on the roles of DEFA and the Treasury in relation to director pay arrangements, and whether these arrangements were subject to internal or external audit, and what assurance had been provided.

The Minister is expected to reply by 10 February.
