Michelin Experienced Chef Joins UCM

A chef who worked in Michelin star restaurants has joined joined University College Isle of Man’s Hospitality, Catering and Food Service team.

Originally from South Africa, Darien Prophet honed her skills in several prestigious, award-winning restaurants before moving to the UK.

During her time in England, where she worked in the Michelin starred ‘Artichoke’.

More recently, she has been applying her culinary expertise here on the Isle of Man at 14 North.

Addition to UCM

Now, as part of UCM’s Catering, Hospitality and Food Service team, she will be sharing her knowledge and industry insights with students, helping to develop the next generation of culinary professionals.

UCM Principal, Jesamine Kelly, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Darien to our team, her experience and industry knowledge will no doubt engage and inspire our students, giving them a strong foundation for their future careers.”

UCM’s Catering, Hospitality and Food Service courses offer students hands-on experience and expert led training, equipping them with the skills and confidence to succeed in the fast-paced world of professional cookery.
