Laxey secured their second win of the season on Saturday as the Miners overpowered Corinthians at Glen Road.
Having won their first three, the game was the first time the whites have dropped points this season to lose ground on leaders Peel.
Corinthians started the game well and took the lead just after the 10 minute mark when George Burrows slid in to cut out a cross.
Sadly for him, the Laxey midfield’s touch left Glen Walker with no chance as it dinked over him and nestled in the back of the next 0-1.
It should have been 0-2 soon after as Cam Avery’s pass back to Walker was short and Joe Middleton nipped in, he put it past Walker but Tom Cowin got back round to clear it off the line.
Laxey would draw level before the break as summer signing Matty Ogden stabbed home from close range.
After Corinthians’ Josh Ridings hit the bar with a thunderous effort, Laxey began to assert control over the game and took the lead when Aaron Bradley scored from the spot 2-1.
Corinthians had keeper Matt Quirk to thank for keeping them in as he made several good stops, but he could do nothing as Tom Kenny got on the end of a corner to make it 3-1.
Jack Keelan wrapped the game up with a deserved goal which saw him slot past Quirk at the near post to make it 4-1.
