A mobility aid manufacturer has launched a new community fund aimed at helping people in Braddan overcome financial and practical barriers linked to reduced mobility.
Sunrise Medical has created a £5,000 Community Fund to support projects and experiences that improve accessibility and help disabled people take part in activities that may otherwise be out of reach.
The initiative is designed to back anything from accessible accommodation for family trips to specialist equipment for milestone moments such as weddings or supervised beach visits.
The company says the fund is intended to help people pursue goals and experiences that are often made more difficult by mobility‑related challenges and the additional costs that come with them.
Lucy Evans, Head of Marketing at Sunrise Medical, said the fund aims to “remove barriers and create more opportunities for people to take part in the moments and experiences that matter the most to them,” encouraging residents to share what support would make the biggest difference to their lives.
Applications will be assessed by a Sunrise Medical panel, with decisions based on the potential impact on an applicant’s quality of life. The fund is now open and closes at 11:59pm on 30 September 2026.
