Manx equestrians have been in full force at British Eventing competitions in the United Kingdom this weekend.
In Derbyshire at Eland Lodge, Bryn Thompson and his horse, Fine Resolve, finished the BE90 in 6th place.
The pair scored a personal best dressage mark of 29.3, which put them into the lead going into show jumping, but knocked one pole which dropped them down to 6th going into cross country.
They then ‘clawed back a position’ after a clear cross country road to secure them a 5th place finish.

Also competing at Eland Lodge was Amelia Easthope and Victoria Garner.
Victoria and Four Humour finished in 15th in their BE90 section, whilst Amelia ended up jumping the wrong fence cross country which sadly resulted in elimination; although annoying for Amelia, the pair were on flying form!
Back up in Northumberland, at Alnwick Ford International Horse Trials, Jess Collister and Roosevelt finished in 12th place in the BE100.
At the same event in the BE80, Grace Wolstencroft and ‘My Fair Lady’ finished on their dressage score to place 10th.

On Saturday (June 22), Rebecca Le Blond had a winning weekend in Derbyshire at Eland Lodge with Minstrels Quest.
The manx woman won her BE80 section on a 29.3 dressage and two clear jumping rounds.
Rebecca’s younger sister, Jade Fyfe also had a good run with her mare, Penny Pursuits.
The pair finished in 12th place; they scored a 36.3 dressage and also jumped a clear round.
Alnwick Ford International Horse Trials
Jack Kinrade and nine-year-old GH Pogo complete a Novice section at Alnwick Ford International Horse Trials, Northumberland.
The duo finished 14th, after jumping a clear cross country round, and had just the one pole down show jumping.
This is the pairs first season at Novice level, Jack told Manx.News that he is ‘incredibly happy’ with with the result.
The now Cheshire based Rio Hall also had a successful weekend in the North, taking home an 8th in the CCI2*S aboard Georgie Girl, and an 11th in the 6-year-old section on ‘Peace of Orange’.
