The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company have confirmed that the new Liverpool ferry terminal will be in use from tomorrow (June 25) afternoon.
Passengers on Manannan’s 3pm sailing from Douglas to Liverpool will be the first to experience the new terminal.
Manannan will be undertaking further trials and PECs (Pilotage Exemption Certificates) tomorrow morning to ensure the team is fully worked up before the official switch.
New terminal open tomorrow
The new ferry is 800 metres downriver of the current Pier Head Landing Stage facility.
The new terminal will be clearly signposted from the Pier Head Landing Stage for those travelling to the new port by road and on foot.
Foot passengers can access the terminal by the pedestrian bridge which runs from Princes Dock to Central Dock, and vehicle passengers should travel down Jesse Hartley Way to reach the new facility.
Bus services to and from the new terminal are due to commence shortly, in the short term passengers can access public transport via St Nicholas Place.
Passengers with accessibility requirements should speak to terminal staff for assistance.
An update on bus services will be issued by Liverpool City Council.
