Yellow warnings for snow and ice and coastal overtopping have been issued by Ronaldsway Met Office.
The snow and ice warning is in place now and will remain in place until 11am on Thursday.
The Met Office said: “Remaining cold, with continuing risk of ice on upland roads (above about 700 feet, especially where moisture has persisted).
“Also, patchy rain this afternoon, this evening and tonight will fall as snow on the highest roads (above 700-1000 feet), with small accumulations possible. This precipitation will die out later tonight or tomorrow morning.”
As for the coastal overtopping, strong east to southeasterly winds will combine with a fairly big tide tonight (high water approx. 12:20am Thursday morning), resulting in waves and some debris being brought ashore at a few locations around the island.
Similar to this lunchtimes tide – Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey promenades will be particularly susceptible, as well as one or two other locations (e.g. the western parts of Castletown prom and Shore Road).
