The DoI has announced an extension to the Mountain Road closure between the Creg Ny Baa and Brandywell.
The closure is now expected to remain in place until no later than 6pm on Thursday October 23.
The extension is required due to issues affecting the installation of essential road safety features.
A department spokesperson said: “Central double white lines, edge markings, and edge of road reflective studs are in place before traffic can safely return.”
Progress
The DoI said progress continues on the drainage and carriageway improvements from Keppel Gate to Kates Cottage with two large surface water culverts have been installed and resurfacing work is proceeding despite some weather-related challenges.
The Creg and the Victory Café remain open and accessible from their respective ends of the road.
