Update – The Mountain Road has now reopened
The DoI has extended the emergency closure of the Mountain Road between Ramsey and the Creg Ny Baa.
The road was closed by the police last night due to concerns about the snow, ice and misty conditions..
The condition of the road was re examined early this morning by DOI staff and the closure was extended until midday. A further inspection has seen the closure extended to 1.30pm today.
Highway Services said: “We have staff on the Mountain working on remaining problem areas. There will be a further announcement about 1.30pm but we are hopeful to get the road back into service asap.”
