The Mountain Road is closed from the Creg-ny-Baa to Bungalow as snow is falling on higher grounds.
Gritters had worked to keep the road open but the police say conditions have continued to worsen.
However, the road has now shut after a crash.
The police said: ‘Officers have come across an RTC in the area of the Bungalow and conditions are worsening so the A18 Mountain Road is now closed from the Creg Ny Baa to Ramsey. We will keep you updated.’
