Mpox Risk Remains Low to Isle of Man Residents

Mpox has been declared a global public health emergency; however, the government says the risk to Isle of Man residents remains low.

Currently, there are no cases of Mpox in the Isle of Man.

Mpox usually causes mild illness, and most people recover fully.

How it Spreads

Mpox spreads through close contact with an infected person or contaminated materials.

It is not specific to any community and is not considered a sexually transmitted disease.

If you experience symptoms such as unusual rashes, fever, swollen lymph nodes or muscle aches, please contact your GP or the sexual health clinic for advice before visiting in person.
