Love Tech Isle of Man will host NASA astronaut and artist Nicole Stott next month as part of a new programme.
The initiative is designed to inspire young people and highlight opportunities in the global space industry.
The Nicole Stott Series, taking place in early March, will feature two free, ticketed events aimed at students and the wider community.
The initiative supports Love Tech’s goal of encouraging interest in STEM subjects while promoting the island as a place of innovation.
Careers Panel
The first event, Reach for the Stars, will be held on Friday, March 6 at Ballakermeen Studio Theatre.
Aimed at students aged 14 and over, it will explore career pathways across the space sector.
Nicole Stott will be joined by Astronaut Wrangler Christina Korp and Manx space entrepreneur Chris Stott for a panel discussion covering engineering, astronautics, communications and leadership.
The session will also highlight River’s Bursary Scheme and will finish with a book signing.
Community Workshop
On Saturday, March 7, The Nunnery will host Aim Higher, a hands‑on workshop for 20 children.
Participants will help transform a small spacesuit base into a bespoke Isle of Man art installation, painting fabric panels inspired by Manx heritage and landscapes.
The group will also build a large outdoor installation using natural materials, before forming a “star” formation for drone photography. The concept was created by Christina Korp, founder of Space for a Better World.
Nicole Stott said the programme aims to help young people see themselves as part of the wider story of exploration.
