A freedom of information request has revealed 239 prosecutions or fixed penalty notices for mobile phone offences in the past five years.
These were issued under Schedule 6 of the Road Traffic Act 1985.
The request was submitted after the Department of Home Affairs confirmed it did not hold the data, prompting the applicant to approach the Isle of Man Constabulary and the Courts of General Registry instead.
In its response, the Courts Service confirmed the total number of cases recorded over the five‑year period was 239.
