Off-Duty Crews Jump Into Action

The Fire and Rescue Service has thanked an ex and off-duty retained firefighters for helping with a crash earlier this evening.

Fire crews from Douglas were called, together with Police and paramedics, to reports of a two vehicle RTC near to the Liverpool Arms, earlier this evening.

When they arrived, fire crews assisted one casualty from their vehicle and transferred them to the awaiting ambulance for treatment.

The service said: “We would thank members of the public for their patience as the incident caused considerable tail backs which were managed by the Police.

“Additionally we would like to thank an ex retained firefighter and an off duty retained firefighter who were on scene and provided valuable assistance prior to the arrival of the on duty emergency services.”
