The DHSC has applied for planning permission to carry out roof repairs at Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital.
The work is needed to stop pests getting into the building and to fix leaks where water is getting in .
Services at the hospital have been disrupted for months.
Martin Ward closed in October last year because of a pest control issue in the roof space with some services moved to Noble’s Hospital in December, with health officials had promised a full return by the end of April.
However, this week Manx Care confirmed the reopening would be delayed until May because “additional structural work” was needed .
The planning application states the work is required to “address defects in the fabric that have allowed pests to infiltrate, address water ingress at roof abutments and penetrations and address a backlog of maintenance issues” .
Work includes removing old chimney stacks, replacing flat roofing, and fixing slipped slates. The minor injuries unit is expected to reopen in time for the TT in late May .
