A new community event, Polichics will offer women a relaxed and welcoming way to better understand how the island’s political system works ahead of the General Election.
The event, hosted by Level Up Club, is designed for those who feel political conversations can be overwhelming or inaccessible.
Organisers say the evening will focus on why local politics matters, how decisions shape everyday life, and how women can feel more confident using their voice, whether in conversations, through engagement with elected representatives, or by casting an informed vote.
The session is strictly non‑partisan and not linked to any political party or candidate.
Guided Tour
Attendees will take part in a guided tour of the Tynwald building before joining a collaborative creative workshop led by Julia from Cullen Creative.
The workshop will explore what kind of island women want for the future, the issues that matter most to them, and the challenges facing women today.
The finished piece will be shared with newly elected MHKs after the election to give decision‑makers insight into the priorities raised.
Organisers say the event aims to show that politics affects far more of daily life than many realise, from housing and healthcare to childcare, transport, women’s safety, equal pay and the environment.
With voter engagement a key focus this election year, Level Up Club hopes the event will encourage women of all ages to ask questions, learn something new and feel empowered to take part in political conversations.
