Port St Mary recorded a hard-fought victory over southern rivals Castletown in the latest round of the Isle of Man Rifle Association Winter League.
Visiting shooters Ben Kelly and Hayden East were the joint top scorers of the match with superb 99s, while Donna Gardner added a strong 98.
East, still a junior, has made steady progress throughout the season and set a new personal best with his excellent 99 in this match.
Rifle Association Winter League
For the home side, Nigel Christian and Rhian Masson both posted 98s in a high-quality contest. Masson’s dad, Neil, also recorded his season best with a 97.
Meanwhile, Laxey bounced back after last week’s defeat to Port St. Mary with a 479–452 victory over Sandsiders. Harry Creevy’s excellent 99 was matched by visiting Jean Quaye, while Adrian Cowin continued his good form with 98.
Douglas also claimed the points, beating Kirk Michael 463–183, with Sam Jones and Christian Eaton both impressing with 98.
