International Women’s Day proved a fitting backdrop for a trio of standout performances at the Isle of Man Veterans’ 20‑mile race at the NSC.
All three female entrants delivered significant personal bests at Sunday’s race.
Kathy Garrett topped the women’s field in 2:31:39, slicing more than nine minutes off her previous best.
Close behind, Jayne Farquhar marked her ninth appearance in the event with a breakthrough run of 2:35:37, an improvement of nearly eight minutes.
Aimee Knox completed the clean sweep of PBs, clocking 2:37:14 to take more than three minutes off her own record. The trio finished fourth, fifth and sixth overall.
The men’s podium was led by Mark Burman in 2:01:43, followed by David Williams in 2:04:35 and Paul Jennings in 2:08:11
