FC Isle of Man’s rearranged fixture against Prestwich Heys was abandoned this morning as their opposition refused to play.
Strong gales from Storm Dave say the game abandoned after 60 minutes on Saturday night.
The North West Counties Football League told the clubs that the game would be replayed today, but the visiting side did not attend The Bowl.
As a result, FC Isle of Man changed into their kit and entered the pitch when it was announced the league had confirmed the game would not be going ahead.
The club said: “Due to circumstances beyond our control, this morning’s rearranged fixture will not go ahead. We will liaise with the North West Counties Football League on how they wish to proceed. Thank you to our amazing fans who turned up this morning.”
