MHK John Wannenburgh has asked the Cabinet Office Minister for details on meningitis vaccine stocks, immunity levels and the risk of an outbreak over Easter.
In a written question due for answer by April 14, Wannenburgh asks the Minister to confirm what stocks of meningitis vaccine are currently held on the island, whether herd immunity exists within the population, and whether there are any gaps in immunisation coverage.
He also asks for the Minister’s assessment of the risk of a meningitis outbreak when students travel back to the island for Easter.
Ashford’s response is expected to outline vaccine availability, coverage levels in key age groups, and any precautionary measures in place during periods of increased travel.
