RDA Girls Qualify For Nationals

An all girl team from Riding for the Disabled Isle of Man have qualified for face-to-face competing at the RDA National Championships.

The championships will be held at Hartpury University in Gloucestershire from July 11-13.

All three girls Chantelle, Evie & Rose compete in dressage and countryside challenge, all whilst riding horses that they haven’t met before.

Off to Nationals

The Manx charity will send three of the coaching team, Diane, Donna and Kat, to support the girls throughout.

RDA volunteer and coach, Diane Simpson said: “Being able to take our riders to compete across on a national scale is such a honour and privilege.

“We are eternally grateful to the Manx Horse Council, Isle of Man Sport and The Steam Packet for their ongoing support.

“This year the guys from Rare Air Flyers and the riders family members raised money by doing the Parish Walk to get us to the champs!”

Fellow coach and volunteer, Kat Ions added: “We knew our guys were fabulous and they embrace getting on new horses in unfamiliar surroundings with such bravery – but they’ve absolutely smashed it!

“One of the best things is that the island embraces our riders for the committed athletes they are and gets behind them in so many ways.

“We are incredibly grateful for the well wishes and support we receive watching our guys shine like the stars they are.”
