An MHK has welcomed the decision by Manx Care to u-turn on its parent craft classes.
Joney Faragher has pushed for the reinstatement of classes several times in Keys and Tynwald this year.
Having stopped in-person classes in favour of recorded videos, which as of the end of March had not been launched, the health service was criticised for leaving expectant parents without support.
However, it has now confirmed it intends to reinstate the in-person classes later this year alongside videos.
Parent Craft Welcomed
Ms Faragher, who recently met with the head of midwifery, said she was “really pleased to hear that they intend to re-instate face-to-face classes in Autumn this year”.
She added: “This is great news, and I’m really grateful to everyone I spoke with and to the Health minister for listening to concerns.
“I’d also just like to say once again how lucky we’ve been to have the classes at the Roundhouse, which I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about, run voluntarily and for free by a wonderful retired midwife.”
