Western AC distance runner Richard Shipway achieved another excellent result by finishing second at Norfolk Trail Marathon.
Attempting to defend the title which he won at the 2023 Norfolk Coastal Trail Marathon, Richard had to settle for second place this year in a field of 144 finishers.
It was an extremely warm day and there was a stiff headwind for much of the way, both of which presented extra challenges, and Richard struggled with these at times.
He nevertheless produced another gritty and determined performance to cross the line in a time of 3:18:35, all the more praiseworthy as he is a V55 athlete and was one of the oldest competitors in the race.
Another performance to make the Island proud!
