Western AC athlete Rory Turner has made an impressive start to life as a student at Loughborough Sixth Form College.
He was one of six athletes selected to represent Loughborough College at the English Schools Cross Country Cup held in Leeds last Saturday.
Rory finished as the fourth Loughborough runner, placing 52nd out of 132 starters in a highly competitive field that saw a significant number of non-finishers.

A talented multi-event athlete and regular member of Team Isle of Man’s Northern League squad, Rory is now training under coach George Seery, with guidance from former Olympic athlete Martyn Rooney, as part of Loughborough’s elite athletics programme.
Beyond the track, Rory has been appointed Lead Student Ambassador for Wellbeing at the college — a role that recognises his positive influence and leadership among his peers.
In February, Rory was recognised at the Isle of Man Sports Awards being presented with the Leonie Cooil ‘Courage & Inspiration’ Award.
