At the weekend, Sam Barks won £15,000 on Celebrity Catchphrase and donated the winnings to local charity, Manx Breast Cancer Support Group.
Sam took to Instagram and said: “It meant so much to me to play for this phenomenal Manx charity.”
The charity
Manx Breast Cancer Support Group’s aim is to help improve the Islands Breast Service for patients diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
In a Facebook post, the Support Group said: “We are all so very grateful to her. When we started Manx Breast Cancer Support Group 12 years ago, Sam kindly agreed to be our Patron and her father Richard also helped us with planning for the Breast Unit.”
Adding: “I was filled with pride tonight to hear the name of our Manx Charity mentioned on national TV. Together we have raised over £8.2m. Thank you so much for all you do to help.”
Not forgetting her Manx roots, Samantha also noted that she wore a dress from Local designer and retailer, Claire Christian Couture.
Sam Barks
Manx born Samantha made her West End debut, as Éponine in Les Misérables from June 2010 to June 2011. She then secured the same role for the 2012 Les Misérables film.
Following from this, Samantha has been cast as Elsa in the production of Frozen in the West End.
In December 2021, she was nominated as Best Performer in a Female Identifying Role in a Musical in the What’s On Stage 2022 awards.
