Sinclair Sets Sights on Middle: Long‑Time Community Figure Enters Election Race

Simon Sinclair and family

Simon Sinclair has formally declared his intention to stand as a candidate for the constituency of Middle in the forthcoming Isle of Man General Election, launching a campaign centred on community roots and core public‑policy challenges.

Sinclair, who has lived in the area for two decades, said his long-standing connection to Middle shaped his decision to run. Over the past 20 years he has worked in roles ranging from running a local pub to delivering parcels, and noted that his family remains closely tied to the community, with both of his children having attended Marown Primary School.

Priorities

In announcing his candidacy, Sinclair outlined a platform focused on several key issues, including food, energy and border security, restructuring the Island’s health service, housing, education, agriculture, the cost‑of‑living crisis, and retaining young people on the Island.

He said he intends to begin canvassing in the constituency and will hold public drop‑in sessions over the coming weeks to speak directly with residents about their priorities and concerns.
