For those who travel the east of the island, you’ll want to be clued up on this as the coast road is closed.
Roads studs are getting fitted from today (February 18) along the road which runs from Ramsey to Oncahn.
Works starting this morning, moving incrementally from Ramsey, south towards Onchan.
From today, the coast road between Ramsey and Onchan will be closed to through traffic from 9:30am until 4:30pm on weekdays.
The closure will be in place until the work is complete.
Coast Road Closure
Through traffic between Ramsey and Onchan will be diverted onto the Mountain Road between 9:30am and 4:30pm.
The following traffic will be facilitated within the closure
- Vehicles requiring access to and from any property within the closure;
- Emergency services;
- All pedestrians.
As for buses: Scheduled bus services, including school and Connectvillages services will be allowed through the works.
There will be additional traffic management arrangements on the approach to the works, within the closure and short delays may be experienced.
The temporary road closure order allows daytime road closures on weekdays up to and including Friday, March 7.
