Local equestrian star, Yasmin Ingham finished third and eleventh on her two top rides yesterday (March 30) in the CCI4*S Grantham Cup at Thoresby Park International Eventing Spring Carnival.
She finished 3rd on her World Champion partner, Banzai Du Loir; owned by Janette Chinn and The Sue Davies Fund.
Banzai and Yasmin led the hotly contended competition after dressage and show jumping, but just picked up a few time penalties on cross country dropping them to third.
Ingham also competed Rehy DJ who finished 11th in the competition, again with a double clear but picking up a few time penalties.
Speaking to Manx.News, Yasmin said she is “delighted” with the results.
Ingham on a mission
With the never ending rain over the past few weeks flooding the eventing calendar with cancellations, this event was more needed than ever for riders who have hopes of being selected for the Paris Olympics.
Ingham qualified both her top rides, Banzai du Loir and Rehy DJ, for the 2024 Olympics last year, but will need to get some solid results early in the season to be considered for selection.
This brilliant finish from the 26 year old will no doubt remind the Team GB selectors to keep their eyes on the talented Manx woman.
In April, Ingham will return to the USA with Banzai Du Loir to compete in the Defender Kentucky Three Day Event CCI5*; the full entry list is available here.
