Corinthians welcome Peel to Ballafletcher this weekend knowing a win would draw them level on points at the top of the Canada Life Premier League.
The Whites have quietly risen up the league and overtaken Ayre into second place looking to chase down leaders Peel.
For their part, Peel have been on a good run in the league, winning every league game since their loss at home to St Mary’s in November.
The last time the sides met Peel won a dramatic Railway Cup semi final 4-3 so Corinthians will be looking to avenge that as well as boost their title credentials.
With Peel having played a game less than their rivals, a win for them would see the title almost certainly heading west, so there is a lot to play for and no doubt Karen will be putting extra sausages rolls in the oven ready for what will likely be a sizeable crowd.
As for third placed Ayre, they head to Foxdale this weekend looking to bounce back from back to back 4-3 defeats.
Elsewhere, bottom side Marown welcome Ramsey, relegation bound St Georges head to Union Mills and St Mary’s host Laxey at the Bowl.
Division Two
There are four games in the Ardern & Druggan Division Two this weekend as Old Boys look to get their title bid back on track.
The Blackberry Lane side head to Castletown on Saturday afternoon hoping to use one of their games in hand to bring leaders Braddan back within three points after the Swans beat them last time out.
Colby and RYCOB haven’t given up home on spoiling the top two’s promotion parades and will be looking to close the gap themselves this weekend.
For Colby they face a Douglas Royal side sitting in mid table while RYCOB have a visit from sixth place Pulrose to look forward to.
The other game in the division sees Malew take on the long trip up to Michael.
All games are set to kick off at 2pm, subject to any cancellations caused by the weather.
