Vagabonds mens and ladies sides both went down fighting over the weekend, narrowly losing home and away.
The mens side welcomed Ashton while the ladies faced an early start for their trip to Bury.
Despite running in four tries, including two from Dave Kennan and one each from Tom Gascoyne and Josh Modin, the men’s side lost 24-32 to Ashton. Cam Findlay kicked the rest of the points.
The ladies side said: “While we had flashes of brilliance and moments of classic, hard-hitting rugby, we lacked our usual spark, giving Bury the upper hand.”
Vagabonds śaw Maylyn Campbell and Becka Hicks touchdown, with Sammie Mac kicking the other points.
However, Bury responded with 27 points of their own to win 19-27.
