Southern 100 Racing says it is “shocked and saddened” by the passing of long-time supporter Dave Quayle.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has also said it is “shocked and saddened at the news of the untimely passing of our colleague”.
Mr Quayle was the former landlord of Castletown’s Sidings public house, a popular hub for the racing community.
He later served as Catering Manager at the Billown Course with his wife Angela. Southern 100 Racing said they “already stamped their unique high standards” in the role, upholding the event’s traditions.
Mr Quayle also dedicated nearly 25 years to the community as a firefighter.
The Fire and Rescue Service said: “Dave served at Castletown and Malew Fire Station for almost 25 years and was a well respected and dedicated member of the crew.
“Never without his sense of humour and trademark smile, he will be sadly missed by his colleagues and many friends throughout the Service.”
Both organisations have extended their heartfelt condolences to his family.
